It’s better that you don’t go in your acupuncture session blindly, and know to expect afterward. Longmont Acupuncture has some side effects, mostly pleasant ones. To ease your mind, we’ve come up with a list of what to expect after an acupuncture session.
Acupuncture has the effect of releasing all the stress and tension built up inside you, and sometimes the release can be an emotional one. Some clients tear up during the session, not because of any pain, but because of the overpowering feeling of zen, you’ll feel. It’s normal for a person to feel slightly emotionally sensitive following the days of the session, so don’t worry about it.
Lightheadedness and Fatigue
In rare occasions, some clients tend to feel lightheaded, but not to the point of fainting. To avoid this from happening, make sure to follow these tips:
- Don’t rush getting up from the table, take your time;
- Don’t rush to leave the office and let your senses settle first;
- Wait for a few minutes, take a deep breath, and relax.
You might also feel a wave of fatigue hit you right after, but it isn’t a cause for concern. You can recover from this by giving yourself some time to rest and give yourself a short break. Take a nap, a warm bath, and a well-deserved rest. Once you’ve recovered from this, you’ll begin to feel fresh and ready to conquer the day once more.
Bruising and Soreness
Bruising can sometimes occur in areas where the needles are placed, and it usually happens with patients having sensitive skin. There is no clear explanation of why this happens, but you don’t have to worry about it, and it’ll heal on its own. Soreness can also occur in areas where the needles are inserted and removed. Most people experience this feeling on their hands and feet, especially when they have treatments related to the intestines. Soreness can last for 24 hours, but you don’t have anything to worry about if it lasts more than that.
Longmont acupuncture services are varied, and it can help you in every condition. Remember some of the effects we’ve listed for you, and don’t worry because it’s not something serious. After all these effects have worn off, you’ll feel way better than before.
